VAULT Auction Terms

Effective date: October 8, 2026

These VAULT Auction Terms apply to every auction listed in The Vault on gallensons.com. They are in addition to our general Terms and Conditions. If the two conflict on an auction purchase, these VAULT terms control. By placing a bid, you agree to these terms.

Acceptance of these terms

By signing up for The Vault you agree to these Terms & Conditions and Disclaimers — in the same step, and in the same way, that you agree to receive our emails when you sign up. Ticking the signup box, creating or using a VAULT account, or placing a bid each confirms that agreement. If you do not agree, do not sign up and do not bid. We may update these terms (see section 14); continuing to bid after an update means you accept the updated terms.

1. Who can bid

Bidding is open only to registered VAULT members with a verified account. You must be legally allowed to buy and possess firearms under federal, state and local law, and at least 21 years old for handguns and other non-long-gun firearms or 18 for rifles and shotguns (or older if your state requires it). One account per person. We may refuse, suspend or cancel any membership or bid at our discretion, including for anyone we believe is buying on behalf of another person.

2. How bidding works

• Proxy bidding. You may enter a maximum bid. The system bids for you, one increment at a time, only as much as needed to keep you in the lead, up to your maximum. Your maximum is never shown to other bidders.
• Reserve. Some items have a hidden reserve (minimum) price. If bidding ends below the reserve, the item does not sell and no one is obligated to buy it.
• 15-minute rule. If a bid is placed in the last 15 minutes of an auction, the auction stays open until 15 minutes pass with no new bids. Every bid in that window restarts the 15-minute clock, so everyone has a fair chance to respond. To be determined
• Bid increments. Each bid must beat the current bid by at least the increment shown on the listing: To be determined.
• Our clock is official. The auction end time shown on our website controls. We are not responsible for bids that fail to register because of internet, device or connection problems.
• You cannot lower or cancel a bid. Bids may be removed only for an obvious entry error (for example, $40,000 typed instead of $4,000), and only if you contact us before the auction ends. Removal is at our discretion.

3. Your bid is a binding contract

Each bid is a legally binding offer to buy the item at the amount bid. When the auction ends, the highest bid that meets any reserve is accepted, and the winning bidder is obligated to complete the purchase and pay in full. Changing your mind, finding a better price elsewhere, or not reading the description are not reasons to cancel.

4. What you pay

The total due is the winning bid, plus To be determined, applicable sales tax, shipping and insurance, and any card or payment fees we disclose at checkout. Gallenson’s does not pay, cover or reimburse the receiving FFL dealer’s transfer fee. Any fee your receiving dealer charges (transfer, background check, NFA or storage fees) is your responsibility, paid directly to that dealer, and is not included in your total.

5. Payment

• Winners receive an email with a payment link. Payment in full is due within To be determined of the auction ending.
• Accepted payment: To be determined.
• Non-payment. If payment is not received on time, we may cancel the sale, offer the item to the next-highest bidder, or relist it, and we may permanently remove you from The Vault. To be determined
• Chargebacks. Disputing or reversing an authorized payment for an auction you won is a breach of these terms. We will contest it with the evidence of your bid and these terms, and your VAULT access will be terminated.

6. All sales are final

ALL VAULT AUCTION SALES ARE FINAL. There are no changes, returns, exchanges, refunds or cancellations after an auction closes, for any reason, including change of mind, fit, appearance, or legal restrictions where you live. Please ask any questions before you bid.

The only exception: if we cannot deliver the item because it is lost, damaged or found to be unavailable before it leaves our possession, or because we cancel the sale, we will refund what you paid for that item. That refund is our only obligation.

7. Sold AS IS

EVERY ITEM IS SOLD “AS IS, WHERE IS,” WITH ALL FAULTS. Gallenson’s makes no warranty of any kind, express or implied, including any implied warranty of merchantability or fitness for a particular purpose. Descriptions and photos are provided in good faith and are part of the listing. Many VAULT items are used, collectible or rare. Unless we state otherwise in the listing, we do not guarantee function, round count, originality of parts or finish, accuracy, or collector value. Any remaining manufacturer warranty is between you and the manufacturer.

8. Firearm transfers and the law where you live

• Firearms ship only to a federally licensed firearms dealer (FFL) chosen by you. We must receive a copy of that dealer’s license before shipping. You may also pick up in our Salt Lake City store and complete the transfer here.
• The transfer is completed by the receiving dealer, including any background check and any state waiting period, permit or registration. The receiving dealer’s fees are yours to pay (see Section 4). If you are denied, Section 6 applies.
• NFA items (suppressors, short-barreled rifles and shotguns, machine guns and similar) transfer only under ATF rules, including the required ATF forms, approval and any tax. Wait times are set by ATF, not by us, and are not grounds for cancellation.
• Your state’s laws are your responsibility. All federal, state and local laws apply where the winning bidder resides, and every sale and transfer is subject to them. Items are listed in their current configuration and are legal to sell in Utah. Some states and cities restrict features, magazine capacity, models (for example, approved-handgun rosters) or calibers in ways Utah does not. Before bidding, confirm the item can lawfully be transferred to and possessed by you where you live.
• Required modifications. If your state requires changes, the firearm and/or magazines may need to be modified to comply, for example by installing compliant parts or supplying reduced-capacity magazines. Any modification is at your expense. We may, at our option and where lawful, make such changes before shipping for an added fee, or ship the firearm without its magazines. A required modification does not entitle you to a refund or a price reduction, and may affect collector value.
• We may refuse to ship any item to any destination where we believe the transfer would be unlawful. We do not ship firearms to To be determined.
• We make no representation that any item is legal in your jurisdiction.

9. Shipping

Items ship within To be determined business days after payment clears and we verify your FFL. Firearms are shipped insured and require an adult signature. Risk of loss passes to you To be determined. Report shipping damage to us within To be determined of delivery, with photos and the original packaging, so we can file a claim with the carrier.

10. Fair bidding

Shill bidding, bidding on your own items, using more than one account, bidding together with others to hold down prices, and any other attempt to manipulate an auction are prohibited. Gallenson’s employees and their household members do not bid in VAULT auctions. We may cancel bids, void sales and close accounts involved in any of these practices.

11. Our rights

We may correct errors in a listing, end an auction early, withdraw an item, or cancel a sale if an item is lost, damaged, misdescribed or becomes unavailable, or if we suspect fraud or an unlawful transfer. If we cancel a sale after you have paid, we refund what you paid for that item, and that refund is our only liability.

12. Email communications and newsletter

By joining The Vault you agree to these terms (see “Acceptance of these terms” above) and to receive email from Gallenson’s Guns: (a) VAULT auction emails — drop announcements, outbid notices, winning notices and payment reminders — and (b) the Gallenson’s Guns email newsletter, including deals, new arrivals and store news. We communicate by email only; we do not send text messages. You can unsubscribe from the newsletter at any time using the link in any email. Unsubscribing from VAULT auction emails may mean you miss drop, outbid or payment notices, and does not change your obligations under these terms. Keep your account email current. Not receiving or not reading an email does not change your obligations under these terms.

13. Liability, governing law and disputes

To the fullest extent the law allows, Gallenson’s total liability for any auction purchase is limited to the amount you paid for that item. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Utah. The dispute-resolution, arbitration and limitation-of-liability provisions of our general Terms and Conditions apply to VAULT auctions.

14. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms from time to time. The version in effect when you place a bid applies to that auction.
