Suppressors are legal to own — and hunt with — in Utah. As of January 1, 2026, the federal $200 tax stamp is $0, and most individual eForm 4 applications are approving in about a week. There has never been a cheaper or faster time to buy your first can — and you can do the whole thing in person, downtown, at a shop that’s been here since 1916.
How It Works at Gallenson’s
1. Pick your suppressor
Shop nearly 100 cans in stock and online — Strategic Sciences, Knight’s Armament, Stealth Additive Works, SilencerCo, Dead Air, B&T, HUXWRX, Thunder Beast and more — with real advice from staff who shoot what they sell. Browse suppressors in stock →
2. Fingerprints & photo at our kiosk
Our in-store Silencer Shop kiosk captures your fingerprints and photo digitally in a few minutes. No ink cards, no post office, no appointments.
3. eForm 4 filed electronically
Your application goes to the ATF electronically. Recent individual eForm 4 approvals are averaging about a week; trusts run roughly a month.
4. Pick it up downtown
When your approval comes back, we text you. Walk in, finish the paperwork, walk out with your suppressor. Please allow 24 hours from delivery on items shipped to us.
Why Buy From a Shop Instead of a Website?
Handle it first
Weight and length on a spec sheet mean nothing until the can is on your rifle. Try before you file.
Free Silencer Shop processing
Suppressors bought through Silencer Shop are received and processed at Gallenson’s at no charge. NFA items from any other online source are $125 each — details on our Transfers page.
