KILLDOZER TRIBUTE

Marvin Heemeyer (1951–2004) was a U.S. Air Force veteran, welder, and business owner in Granby, Colorado. After years of escalating disputes with town officials over zoning and development he believed were unjust, he spent over a year modifying a Komatsu bulldozer into an armored vehicle with reinforced steel, concrete, and onboard cameras.

In 2004, he used the machine during a destructive incident targeting multiple government and business properties tied to those conflicts. No bystanders were killed or seriously injured. The vehicle was eventually immobilized, and Heemeyer died during the event. The incident became one of the most controversial modern American local stories, with Heemeyer remembered by some as a symbol of resistance and by others as responsible for significant destruction.
